Authors I’ve Read the Most Books By | TTT

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is Authors I’ve Read the Most Books By

Agatha Christie | 20 Books

If you’ve been following me for a while, then this probably doesn’t surprise you at all. I’ve been reading Christie since I was 16 (I’m now 24), so she’s been one of my favourite authors consistently for a few years now. This is where I take a moment to brag about being related to Christie on my Grandma’s side…it’s my greatest achievement.

Lemony Snicket | 15 Books

Again, this should come as no surprise. A Series of Unfortunate Events was the series that got me into reading, well before HP. I owe this series a lot.

Cassandra Clare | 15 Books

I’ve got a bit of a complicated story with Cassandra Clare. I really enjoyed the first three Mortal Instruments books, loved the Infernal Devices, and then hated City of Heavenly Fire so much that I vowed to never read her books again. Then Lady Midnight came out and I fell in love with that series, and then Chain of Gold recently so yeah.

Rick Riordan | 13 Books

You might have guessed by the fact I named my cat after Percy Jackson, that I’m a bit of a fan. Riordan’s books just make me infinitely happy. That being said, I am kind of behind with them so I do eventually need to catch up.

William Shakespeare | 12 Books

Not someone I talk about a lot, or maybe ever, but yeah I’ve read a few Shakespeare’s. I studied three during high school, and then went on to read the rest for myself. I just recently read Twelfth Night and loved seeing the original source material for She’s the Man, which was one of my favourites movies as a teenager.

Richelle Mead | 12 Books

I have to admit that I’m not really a fan of Richelle Mead anymore. I loved Vampire Academy as a teenager, and still have a special place for it in my heart. But I haven’t liked any of her other books since.

Margaret Atwood | 9 Books

Atwood has been another long-term favourite of mine. I was lucky enough to see her speak earlier this year before we all went into self-isolation and it was just incredible.

Maureen Johnson | 9 Books

I don’t think I’ve actually read any Maureen Johnson for probably about five or six years now, but there was a time that she was my favourite YA author. She took a little break from releasing anything for a while, but I do want to eventually get to her new series.

Daphne du Maurier | 8 Books

Du Maurier is another author I’ve been a fan of for a really long time. I first read My Cousin Rachel back in 2013 and just fell in love with her right away. I did a post in May over on Of Wonderland ranking her different novels if you’re interested in hearing my full thoughts.

Leigh Bardugo | 8 Books

I think right now the only Bardugo I haven’t read is her Wonder Woman one, but I don’t necessarily think of her as a favourite author. I really enjoy her books for the most part, but I’m not quite as ride or die as some of her fans.

Who are your most read authors?

  1. I know what you mean with Leigh Bardugo. I read a few by her (and I just realized I forget to add her to my list because always forget about The Grisha trilogy.) She’s not a favorite but I do enjoy reading her books/characters. Especially Nikolai haha.

And I feel you on Cassandra Clare. I had a similar response to city of heavenly fire but I did end up starting the lady midnight trilogy. I just have to read the last one. I might just be picking up the translations from the library though instead of buying them.

  2. Hi there Aly! I love your list! Agatha Christie also made my list. Also a big fan of Lemony Snicket and Daphne Du Maurier.

Happy reading and I hope you will have a good week. Here’s my TTT

  4. I’ve never read so much as a single word written by Agatha Christie. Which book of hers would you recommend beginning with?
