Today I’m here to share with you all some more romance books that I’m highly anticipating this year. I did a post like this back in December, so I thought it would be nice to add a few more books to that list that I’ve found since. I find it a little hard to do posts like this sometimes because I’m still pretty new to the romance genre and I’m usually not caught up on series enough to talk about the third or fourth books in series that other people are excited for. With that being said, let’s jump into it.

Seven Days in June by Tia Williams

The book right here is the whole reason I wanted to do this post. I got to read an excerpt of this through NetGalley and I was instantly obsessed with it. This is a contemporary romance about two authors—one who writes vampire erotica and the other who is this big, hotshot, award-winning writer. The two of them apparently spent seven days wildly in love when they were younger, and now they are finally reunited. This also has some chronic illness rep with the female protagonist living with chronic migraines, so you know it was already going to be high on my list for that. As well as the romance angle, it mentions the book is also about being Black in American and single motherhood. I’m honestly not usually much of a contemporary romance reader, but like I said I was instantly in love with the excerpt I got to read. I have a feeling this might become a favourite of the year just based on what I read—it was funny, and I could just tell it was going to get both sweet and meaning and sexy as hell later on. It’s out June 8th (that’s got to be a reference to the title, right?) from Grand Central Publishing. Watch out for some more about this one around July from me!

The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton

And we’re right back into my comfort zone! This one honestly sounds like a hilarious romp. The synopsis describes it as; A prim and proper lady thief must save her aunt from a crazed pirate and his dangerously charming henchman in this fantastical historical romance. Um, yes please? Can we just break that down? A lady thief. A pirate. His dangerously charming henchman. That just sounds like the kind of thing I need in a book right now. This is Victorian era which is a little out of my usual Regency zone, but it still feels decidedly less scary than contemporary romance for me. From what I can tell this seems to be a standalone as well, which could be nice. God knows I don’t need another historical romance series on the go, though I’ll read it no matter what. I most likely won’t end up buying physical copies of all the books on this list, especially since romance books are notoriously hard to find here but this is one I’ll definitely be ordering. That cover is just far too stunning to pass up. This is out June 15th from Berkley Books.

Never Fall For Your Fiancee by Virginia Heath

Hello, my name is Ely and I have an obsession with fake dating in books. Well now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let me tell you all about how amazing this book sounds. This is about Hugh who has told his mother that he has a fiancee to stop her matchmaking, only then he discovers she’s on her way back to England and he enlists Minerva to be his fake wife-to-be. Of course, they’ll fall in love and there’s going to be countless hilarious and adorable moments. Plus the fact all of that is in a Regency-era setting—I’m sorry, how could I pass that up? Again, that cover is absolutely stunning. Are you starting to see a bit of a theme here? But seriously, it’s not often that you see bright orange books like this but somehow it kind of works for this one. I think I might just be going through a stage where my favourite kinds of covers are illustrated ones with bright or unique colours—is anyone else loving these kinds of covers right now? Anyway, it is a little bit of a way away with this one with it out November 9th from St Martin’s Griffin.

The Scoundrel’s Daughter by Anne Gracie

Unfortunately, this one doesn’t have a cover for me to drool over yet but the synopsis sounds incredible anyway. It follows a widow named Alice who is being blackmailed into finding a husband for this young woman, Lucy. Alice brings her nephew into help who then falls for Lucy, and brings an old army buddy in who ends up falling for Alice. I haven’t really read anything like that before so it’s sound a lot of fun. This one is out August 24th from Berkely.
