Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

This one is sort of terrifying because it’s my last Austen. I just finished Emma up a few days ago and I think I’m ready to give this one a shot. This is admittedly one of my favourite stories from the adaptations I’ve seen so I am excited in that regard, just sad to not have any new Austen.

In Search of Mary Shelley by Fiona Sampson

With it coming up to the halfway point of the year, it’s time to make sure I’m still crushing those reading goals right? One of those goals for me is to read all the books on my TBR from pre-2019, of which this is one of the last ones. It also doubles up for a post I want to be doing in a few weeks, and you know how I love knocking out two goals in one.

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel

I’ve been reading a lot of big books lately, which means I’m in the mindset to knock a few more out. I’ve wanted to read Wolf Hall for years, but only actually bought myself a copy last year. I’m not sure whether it’ll be something I actually enjoy or not, but I’m willing to give it a go.

The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar

I’m really focusing this month on reading LGBTQ+ books, so I figured I should probably at least add one of the books I’ll be reading to this list, right? I picked this one because it’s one a little lower down my priorities list but I don’t want it to keep getting pushed back considering I pre-ordered it last year.

The Boy, The Wolf and The Stars by Shivaun Plozza

It feels like it’s been a super long time since I read a really good middle grade. I know it actually hasn’t been because I read some in May, but any amount of time between middle-grades is too long! This is also OZ MG (middle-grade for Australia), which is honestly the best kind of middle-grade.

The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon

I finally finished The Song Rising at the end of May which I’d been avoiding reading since 2015, and now it’s finally time for me to move onto The Mask Falling. I absolutely loved where it ended up so I’m beyond excited to see what will happen to Paige in this one!

Another Brooklyn by Jacqueline Woodson

It’s always nice to slip in some small books, right? I always fly through Jacqueline Woodson’s books—they usually only take me a few hours, so this should be a nice easy one to mark off this list!

Refraction by Naomi Hughes

Refraction is a new purchase, but it has been on my Goodreads TBR for a really long time. I have an ARC of Naomi Hughes’ new books so I really want to read this one first so I can then move onto that.

The Shamer’s Signet by Lene Kaaberbøl

As always, the last two books are ones that aren’t from my physical TBR. Usually a Kindle book and an audiobook. It’s a little different this month because this read is actually from Scribd instead. This is the sequel to The Shamer’s Daughter which I read last month for Eurovisionathon, and loved. The author is Danish and this is just a really sweet middle-grade series.

On Juneteenth by Anette Gordon-Reed

And finally, my audiobook. For the last few months I’ve been listening to Black Sun, which I still haven’t finished, but I figured it was time to try something else that would be a bit easier to achieve. This one is only just over three hours long and I’ve already started it, so it feels doable.
