Did I Read My Autumn 2023 TBR?

Here we are today to take a look back at Autumn TBR to see what I actually read and what I just didn’t get around to. This wasn’t as successful as I was hoping, but let’s just jump right into it.

What I Read

The Solace of Sharp Claws (Fae Guardians #2) by Lana Pecherczyk

I reread this one in April and then continued straight away onto reading book three and I have absolutely no regrets about that. This series is absolutely fantastic and with every book it just creeps higher and higher up my list of favourite series of all-time.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

I’d never read anything from Sally Thorne before but I wanted to pick this one up before meeting her at RARE. And I did—a couple of days after Solace of Sharp Claws actually. I had a lot of fun reading it especially as I was really unwell at the time and it was a definitely a case of the right book at the right time.

Broken Bonds (The Bonds That Tie #1) by J Bree

Another reread for me. This was a really interesting experience because I didn’t realise how much of the first three books I’d conflated into this one. I definitely had my timelines all mixed up so it was fun rediscovering the actual order of events.

What I Didn’t

Chain of Iron (The Last Hours #2) by Cassandra Clare

I’m just going to start right off the bat by admitting that I regret adding most of these to my TBR almost immediately. I did think I’d get to this one and the third book, but I just didn’t have the time to pick up something so big between reading everything else I needed to.

The Harp of Kings (Warrior Bards #1) by Juliet Marillier

I’ve been telling myself I’m going to pick this up and reread it for months now but I just never do. I really want to continue the rest of the series but I just don’t know when I’m going to have time to do that.

Wanderlust (Sirantha Jax #2) by Ann Aguirre

I thought about starting this one a lot too but this was a case of just not having the time. I’d hoped to squeeze it in somewhere but I just couldn’t.

All Our Yesterdays by Natalia Ginzburg

This was meant to be a read for Eurovisionathon but I ended up dedicating my time to other things on my TBR for the readathon and this feel by the wayside.

None Shall Sleep (None Shall Sleep #1) by Ellie Marney

This was also meant to be for Eurovisionathon but as a reread. I realised in early May that I wouldn’t have the chance to buy the sequel until at least early July and decided I’d read it closer to that time.

Death in Ecstasy (Roderick Alleyn #4) by Ngaio Marsh

I did actually start this one! I picked it up just before heading off to Sydney but didn’t manage to finish it beforehand. I’m hoping to finish it off this weekend.

Women Artists: The Linda Nochlin Reader edited by Maura Reilly

I had the most regrets about picking this one. I knew I wasn’t going to have the time for it because it’s a decently large collection of essays. It’s one I need to read slowly over time rather than try and push through for sure.

And that’s it. How did you go with your last seasonal TBR?
