This week I ended up in hospital again which has kind of put a spanner in the works. I’m already doing better but I’m exhausted and I wanted something quick to post. I’d already planned this one out so it seemed like the perfect time to talk about the books I have on hold at the library right now.
There’s only five so I’m not too out of control, but let’s get into them.
Hunger by Roxane Gay & The Hundred-Year House by Rebecca Makkai

I mentioned these two in a post I did in August about audiobooks I was waiting for. And lo and behold, I’m still waiting for these two. Hunger should be in by next week, I’m the next one in line so I just have to wait for someone to return it. I’ve still got a six week wait on The Hundred-Year House. I own both of these physically so I’m happy to have them come in whenever they do.
The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff
I saw this one on a ‘new releases people are most excited for in Fall’ post on Goodreads. I’ve never read any Lauren Groff. I don’t know if this will be my cup of tea at all, but I still put it on hold. It releases on the 12th of this month and I should get it pretty quickly after that. We’ll see what I think.
Sea of Tranquility by Emily St John Mandel

I have no idea what this one is about. I tried to read Station Eleven a few weeks ago but it was too intense for my mental state at the time. I returned it and switched it for this one. I’ve heard so many amazing things about St John Mandel that I just want to try something. Hopefully, this one is easier on my brain.
Witch of Wild Things by Racquel Vasquez Gilliland
I also know nothing about this one other than it’s witchy and a romance. It’s also released on the 12th but I’m quite far down the list for it so I think it’ll end up being November before I get my hands on it.
The Son of Neptune (Heroes of Olympus #2) by Rick Riordan

Last but not least, I’ve got The Son of Neptune on hold as an audiobook. I also own this one physically and I’ve read it before, but I’ve been trying to reread this series for so long that I thought an audio would be worth a go. I love this series. As I say every time, I literally named my first cat Percy after this series. But I’m just bad at making time for rereads sometimes. I’ve got a 12 week wait for this one but I probably still won’t get around to picking up my physical copy before then.
And that’s all for today. What’s on hold at your library right now?
