Over the last few weeks I’ve been talking about some of the 2024 releases that have already grabbed my attention and the 2023 releases I have read and today we’re finishing up that little mini-series with talking about the 2023 releases I still want to read.
I’ve got seven here and I think all but one were on my most anticipated releases at the start of the year which should tell you everything you need to know about me. But let’s get into it.
Fourth Wing (The Empyrean #1) by Rebecca Yarros

I’ve talked about this one quite a few times this year since it’s one I’ve been excited for all year. I’ve been on a book buying ban since June but I was planning to pick this up for my birthday in October when Angel reminded me that I’d ordered the special edition from her and that it was arriving in November. So there’s another month to wait but I’ll probably pick this one up as soon as I have it.
Chain of Thorns (The Last Hours #3) by Cassandra Clare
This is definitely going to be one of my birthday purchases if my partner doesn’t buy it for me. I’ve been holding off reading book two until I have this one in my hands but I plan on rereading them back to back next month.
Silver in the Bone (Silver in the Bone #1) by Alexandra Bracken

This is the only one on this list that I actually own right now. I bought it in May and meant to read it that week but I ended up getting super distracted by other things. Alexandra Bracken has been a long time favourite author of mine so I’ll definitely read this but I just don’t know if it’ll be before the end of the year.
Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood & The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
I’ve not been in a contemporary romance mood much this year, so that’s why these two haven’t been picked up. The Dead Romantics (from Poston) was one of my favourite books last year and I haven’t disliked anything from Hazelwood yet, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy these when I’m eventually back in the mood for some contemporaries.
Some Shall Break (None Shall Sleep #2) by Ellie Marney

Ellie Marney is a longtime favourite author of mine and None Shall Sleep, the first book in this series, is probably my favourite of hers. To say I was excited about this one is a understatement, but unfortunately it came out the same week that I went to BABE and that was expensive. I think I’ll ask my partner for this one for my birthday—the only fiction book event he’s been to was Ellie’s and I think he was a little blown away by how nice she was because he always points on her books now. It’s adorable.
Wildfire (Maple Hills #2) by Hannah Grace
This one isn’t as bad because it’s not actually out until the 3rd and therefore I haven’t been procrastinating it. I only just read Icebreaker in June and I loved it, so I was eagerly awaiting this one. It’s honestly so hard deciding which of these I want most for my birthday, but this is definitely a possibility.
And that’s all of them. What 2023 releases are you still hoping to read?
Love, Theoretically was a lot of fun.
