A Few More Spookopoly Rolls Because I Couldn’t Stop Myself

I said in my last round of rolls that I wasn’t going to do any more Spookopoly rolls until I read all but two of the rolls I’d already done. I lied. I had way too much fun doing these rolls and I wanted to do it one last time. A few of my picks have turned out to be slower reads than I anticipated but I’m hoping I’ll get to almost all of these before the end of the month.

I realised after the last post had already gone live that I was supposed to do two extra rolls because I rolled two sets of doubles, but I only did one extra so I’m slipping that other one in here. So I have five rolls here, plus the extra one.

Community Shelf

I honestly really like landing on the community shelf spots because I know I’ll have something for each prompt since we get to make our own prompts. This one was Random Letter Generator which I got the letter L for. I decided to pick out Ledge by Stacey McEwan—I bought this in June and I’ve been waiting to pick it up. Now seems like a good time.

Dice Roll Roulette

This was a fun one. So you basically roll your dice and you get a page number count depending on what you rolled between 2-12. I got a book with 475-524 pages, and for that I picked out Little Thieves by Margaret Owen. I’d almost selected this for the previous roll and I’m so glad I didn’t because now I get to read both.

Hannibal Lector

Out of the three fictional serial killers, Hannibal was the only one I’ve actually watched so I was happy to get this one. The prompt is to read a book that has a body part in the title. I’m going with Heart of Iron by Bec McMaster, but to be quite honest, this is pretty low down my list for the month. If I do manage to pick this up, it’ll be at the very end of the month.

Big Book

My day was momentarily ruined by this one coming up, but then I realised it gave me the perfect opportunity to pick up Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare which I’d tentatively put aside for this month if I could manage to make it fit somewhere. This is definitely over 500 pages, but I’m hoping it’ll be a quick read.

TBR Veteran

This was a nice and easy one for me. The Hundred Year House by Rebecca Makkai is the only book still on my shelves from 2019, making it the oldest book on my TBR. My audiobook hold of this finally came into my library over the weekend so I was going to end up reading it this week anyway. It’s about 9 hours long so on 1.5 speed, it should give me some time to do some crafting but also not take too long.

Dice Roll Roulette

And we end on dice roll roulette again. This one was 325-374 pages which I was pretty happy about. I picked Shadowghast by Thomas Taylor—since I’d already picked and read books one and two for this readathon, reading the third seemed like a good option. With the couple of bigger books I have on this list, I think this will be the perfect to break them up.

And so that’s the end of my Spookopoly rolls…for real this time. Here’s hoping I manage to finish most of these but I’ll be talking about that in my wrap-up.
