September and October Book Haul

Today is a little mini book haul from September and October. Since I attended both RARE and BABE this year I’ve been trying to hold off on buying other books to make up for the 92 books I bought over the two events. But it was my birthday in October, so I did pick up just a few things and we’re going to talk about them all now.

We went to a comic book store for my partner’s birthday in September. I picked up a gift for him and got myself a copy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Volume 1—this is the ‘modern’ reboot of the show. I liked that it was a different story as well as being more updated with phones and slang and all that. I read it the same day I bought it which also felt really good.

And then my copy of Crime and Publishing by Steffanie Holmes finally arrived. I’d preordered this for BABE in June and there was an issue with the printing, so it finally made it here at the end of September. This is the 8th book in the series and I’m on the 3rd so it wasn’t keeping me from reading the series.

Then for my birthday, my friend Sarah gave me a copy of Belladonna by Adalyn Grace. This has been on my TBR for quite a while but I probably never would’ve gotten around to it and now I will!

My partner (under the watchful eye of my bestie Angel) got me Chain of Thorns by Cassandra Clare and Wildfire by Hannah Grace (which is signed!!!!). These two were on the very top of my wishlist so I’m super excited to have them in my hands.

The only book I bought myself for my birthday was Some Shall Break by Ellie Marney. This is the sequel to None Shall Sleep which is my favourite of Marney’s so I was so excited for this. It came out in June but I’d holding off and I finally decided to buy this with some loyalty points because I’ve been having a tough time and I deserved it.

With any luck, these will be some of the last books I get this year. I’ve mentioned in a few posts that I’m moving in January/February and I’m trying to decrease the number of books I have to move so a pause of book buying seems like a good idea. We’ll see how I go with that…
