I’m still a little in shock that it’s already a few days into December. Does anyone else feel like this month is going to fly past?
Anyway, today it’s time to take a look back at my Spring TBR and see what I read. Usually I do these the day before my next seasonal TBR but I knew I wasn’t going to squeeze any of these in before the 12th and so I figured I might as well do this today.
What I Read
Games with the Orc (Monster Smash Agency #1) by Kathryn Moon
I picked this one up pretty soon after my TBR went live. I absolutely adore Kathryn Moon and this was a really fun read. I don’t think it’s my favourite of hers, but I’m really excited for the next book in the series.
The Broken Raven (Shadow Skye #2) by Joseph Elliott
I also picked this one up in late September. I think I read about 50 pages when I decided that I’d waited too long and I just wasn’t invested in this series anymore. I decided to pass them on to a friend who I think will appreciate them.
Dual Nature (Omega Assassins #1) by Elizabeth Knight
I was really going hard with this TBR at the end of September because I finished off this one as well. I didn’t really enjoy this but it was fine.
Luxuria (Shades of Sin #1) by Colette Rhodes
And the last one for the end of September! This was my last read for the month and I did enjoy it, but didn’t love it as much as I was expecting to.
Malamander (The Legends of Eerie-on-Sea #1) by Thomas Taylor
I somehow managed to keep that momentum going in the first few days of October as well. I finally got around to rereading this after saying I would for three years so that felt really good. I loved this as much as I did the first time.
The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom #1) by Danielle L. Jensen
Since I was already on such a roll at this point, I figured why not just get to this one as well. I was really nervous about going into this one but I ended up absolutely loving it. I’m a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers trope and I just had so much fun reading this one.
Just Kids by Patti Smith
I had a little bit of a break before picking this one up in early November. I’ve loved Patti Smith for a while now but this wasn’t my favourite of hers. The whole point of reading it was so that I could leave my copy in storage when we move and I can now do that so it’s a win even though I didn’t love this.
Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer #1) by Laini Taylor
And the last one I got to this time was Strange the Dreamer. I promised myself I’d give this a fair go but in all honesty, I read five pages and I already couldn’t take the writing seriously. I’m not into the whole lyrical, whimsical writing style so I was never going to get through this.
What I Didn’t
Winter Sun (Warriors of the Five Realms #2) by Hollee Mands
I did start this one, I think in October, but I just wasn’t in the right mood for it. I thought I’d get back to it before this post but I’ve just been so busy with other things. I don’t know if I’m going to get to it by the end of the year but we’ll see.
From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata
Every time I thought about picking this one up I’d think of figure skating and then I’d think about Icebreaker. I think because it’s the only other book I’ve read about figure skating and I loved it, and it makes me weirdly hesitant for this one. This is also really not a book for when I’m in a slump like I am right now.
And that’s it. I’m so impressed with myself for reading 8 out of 10 and here’s hoping I can do that again for Summer!
That is a great end result 🙂
