Audiobooks for January

For January I planned to do one of my usual TBRs for the month when I realised I really didn’t have any solid reading plans. Midway through January, we’ll be moving to a different city, and we’ve got a long drive ahead of us.

My partner has let me know that since he’s driving all of it, he plans on listening to ‘boring sports and politics podcasts’ and has told me to listen to my own audiobooks. So here I am with my selection of audiobooks I plan to listen to.

Victoria the Queen by Julia Baird

If there’s ever a time to start a 21-hour-long audiobook, a long drive seems like the time. I own a paperback copy of this which I’ve been avoiding for a while now because it’s almost 700 pages and I feel like it’s just going to be a lot. I’d shelved the audiobook at my library for a time when I felt like I was ready and hopefully, this is it now. I don’t expect to listen to this for the whole drive but even an hour or two would be a good start.

Slayers by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden

My main focus for the drive is really this one. It’s only 8 hours and it’s read by a full cast with actors returning to their roles from the series. I’ve been slowly introducing my partner to Buffy and I’ve been reading the new comics so I’m enjoying being in this world right now. I think reading this will take up most of the drive, but I did want some other options if I got bored of this.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

I don’t imagine I’ll pick this one up on the drive at all unless I really don’t like the other two, but once we’ve moved we’ll then have to unpack. That’s really what I’ve put this one aside for. I think it’ll be a good break from reading Victoria, though it’s almost 14 hours long so it’s not exactly a short one either.

I think these three will cover all of the driving and unpacking we’ll have to do, but I have so many other options on my phone that I’ll be covered even if I do manage to finish them. Do you have any audiobooks on your January TBR?
