Last month I got to attend BABE (which is a romance book event) and I had a fantastic time getting to meet authors and getting to pick up a lot of books.
As with every book event, I had big plans of reading all the books I bought quickly. I really thought I’d spend the whole of June just reading these back-to-back. In reality, I reread one book and started a few others before ultimately running out of time in June. So today I’m sharing four books (/series) that I’m still incredibly excited about and hope to read soon.
The Bond Dissolution series by Eliana Lee

I was excited for this series but it wasn’t quite at the top of my list until after the event. For one, Eliana Lee and her assistant were so lovely. And secondly, I actually ended up purchasing a second special edition of the series at the event. I’d preordered the special editions from Eliana, and then ended up seeing the Fae Crate editions there (these are the ones in the image here). They were so incredibly stunning that I couldn’t resist them so now I have two gorgeous editions of this series and now I just have to finish reading them. I should have my review up for The Scent of Us: Part One within the next few days.
Forgiving Darkness (Binary Souls #1) by Cat Sirota

Here’s another I wasn’t expecting to buy at the event. The night before the event, Angel and I were having a last minute look through our maps and pre-order lists to decide what our game plan was when we saw Cat’s table. Neither of us could remember what she wrote so we looked up her and realised she was a debut author and we’d just completely missed her book. We agreed to go look at it if we had time and then, of course, we made time. Cat and her PA were also amazing, just so incredibly sweet and excited. Angel and I both walked away with these gorgeous sparkly matte special editions and I’ve been dying to read it since I got back from Sydney. I have a feeling it’s one of those books I’m going to want to dedicate a couple of days of (mostly) uninterrupted reading to and I’m hoping that might finally be next week.
The Bride Hunt by Evie Mitchell, Bec McMaster and Lana Pecherczyk

Another absolutely stunning set of special editions here. This came as part of a box with the three books (one by each author), pins, stickers, bookmarks—the whole shebang. You might not believe me when I say this but I’m usually not one to spend the extra money on a special edition, but I’ve purchased one from Lana before and the amount of time, effort and detail she puts into her special editions meant that I knew this would be worth it. These are three separate stories all set in this new universe and I think, maybe, there’s more to come at some point down the road. I’ve been holding off on these because I don’t know which of the three I want to start with first, but I think I’ll probably leave Lana’s to last since she’s my favourite.
Power Play (DC Stars #2) by Chelsea Curto

This one’s not a special edition or something I even bought at the event, but I repurchased this entire series ahead of meeting Chelsea at BABE and I just didn’t have time to get to them. I absolutely loved the first book in the series, Face-Off, and I just know that I’m going to love the rest of the series just as much. The only question is whether I decide to reread Face-Off again so I can marathon the whole series.
Well that’s it for today. If you’re interested in seeing what else I got from BABE (as well as some of my live reactions to the Bond Dissolution special editions), you can see everything in my haul down below or here on YouTube!
