2026 Book Releases That Have Already Caught My Eye

Can you believe that 2026 is just over three months away? This year has been so busy for me that it just feels like it’s flown by. But that means, there’s about to be a whole new bunch of books to anticipate and today I’m taking a look at four that have already caught my eye.

King of Faerie (The Wicked Powers #1) by Cassandra Clare

Out of these four, this is the one I’m most likely to pick up. I’ve been holding out for this series since Queen of Air and Darkness came out and I’m so beyond excited to finally get Kit’s story. This doesn’t have a final cover, blurb or release date at the time of writing.

Queen of Faces by Petra Lord

This is described as ‘a desperate girl at a cutthroat magical academy who forced into choosing becoming an assassin or death’. Like so many fantasy readers, I love a good magical academy plot and this is being recommended to fans of R.F Kuang among others. It’s due out February 3rd.

Geomagician by Jennifer Mandula

Alright, buckle up for this one…’When a Victorian fossil hunter discovers a baby pterodactyl, she vows to protect him with the help of a fellow scholar—her former fiancé’. Are you not screaming, because I’m definitely screaming. This has a truly stunning cover, and it’s due out March 31st.

Regina: A New History of Women and Power by Kate Williams

Of course, I couldn’t resist a nonfiction. This is about queens, princesses, women rulers and so on throughout history which is right up my alley. I love women’s history books and I think this has the chance to be a really good one. It’s a little bit more of a wait for this one, it’s due out June 4th.

That’s all for today. What 2026 books have caught your eye already?
