Authors I Want to Spend More Time With This Year

Today I’m talking about the specific authors I want to spend more time reading in 2026. Earlier in the week I shared a list of individual books, but I didn’t include these authors there because I’m hoping to read multiple works from each of them. With that in mind, here are the writers I’m planning to prioritise this year.

Dorothy L. Sayers

I read three books from Sayers in 2025, making her one of my most read authors of last year. This year I’m hoping to make it through most of the remaining books in her Lord Peter Wimsey series if I can. I think there’s 10 more to go so it could be a bit of an overly ambitious goal but they have been quick reads for me in the past so maybe it is doable.

S.M Gaither

I purchased a lot of S.M Gaither’s books in 2025 since she was at BABE in May. I ordered seven of them and I’ve not read a single one yet, but that’s why I’ve put them on my list. I don’t intend to read all seven, I’d be happy just to read either the Flame and Sparrow duology or the Serpents and Kings trilogy, whichever happens to take my fancy at the time.

Lana Pecherczyk

Pecherczyk is one of my most read authors, but she is also the author I have the most unread books from on my shelves. I have a whopping 15 unread books across a few series. I always pick up Pecherczyk’s books in bulk at book events that she attends which is how I got into this situation, but it’s time for me to catch up.

Sarina Bowen

This year is definitely going to be a big year for Sarina Bowen as I have tickets to meet her in a few months and I have a bunch of her books I want to read before then. I’m a quarter of the way through one at the moment and then I’ll just work through the list. I hope to do a little review wrap-up sort of thing once I’ve read them!

Are there any authors you’re priortising this year? Who’s on your list to try?
