One of my favourite things to do every month is look back at all the books I’ve read. But this month I thought it would be fun to start getting into the habit of talking about the movies, TV and podcasts I’ve been loving in a given month. So here we are.
Love Life

I started watching Love Life pretty much as soon as it was available to stream. I was a little nervous because this isn’t really the type of show I’d usually go for, but I ended up really enjoying it. I’ve watched the whole thing now and I think Anna Kendrick was amazing and the ending made me so happy.
The Art History Babes

I’m really bad at listening to podcasts (and audiobooks) because I panic about not doing other things at the same time…it’s a whole thing. But, I’ve really been enjoying listening to this one. These four are hilarious, and I think I’ve probably learnt more from them than I have from my actual art history degree so far.
The Sapphires

This one has been on my list for a year long time, and I found it on Netflix this month and immediately watched it. This follows four First Nations women as they travel to Vietnam to become singers for the soldiers there. I just really enjoyed it. It’s filled with people I already loved—Jessica Mauboy, Miranda Tapsell and Chris O’Dowd in particular. Miranda Tapsell just put out a book which I’m super excited to get to, so I’m hoping she’ll share some fun stories about this one in there.
Miscellaneous
I also watched a whole bunch of one or two episodes of things this month. I rewatched the first two episodes of Buffy—I do want to do a full rewatch, but I don’t love the first season so it’s slow-going at the moment. I also watched an episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender, this is also another really slow-going show for me. I’m three episodes in and I do really like it, but for some reason it takes a lot out of me. I watched the first episode of Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, not sure that I like this one but I’ll give it another episode. In the same vein, I watched the first three episodes of Run, which I didn’t like despite my love of both Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Domhnall Gleeson. I made it through four episodes of Killing Eve because I had it spoiled for me. As for July, I’m going into it with three episodes of Cinderella and Four Knights left and I’m emotional about it.
