Books I Meant To Read In 2020 | TTT

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is books I meant to read in 2020, and well, that’s basically every book for me but here’s ten of them!

The City We Became by N.K Jemisin

As you’re about to see, most of these are 2020 releases. Some of them I got really early in the year and just didn’t read, some came later. This one I actually started reading at the end of November and just didn’t get around to finishing before the end of the year, but it’s on the list for January.

Girls With Razor Hearts by Suzanne Young

The thing with this one is that I had wanted to reread the first book in the series but I didn’t. Then I was going to do that this month only to remember book three is out in March and I might as well wait until then so that the whole thing is fresh in my brain.

You Should See Me In A Crown by Leah Johnson

I’ve talked about this one a few times already. It was on my Spring TBR originally, and then I didn’t get to it. I just haven’t really been in the mood for it, but hopefully I’ll feel like picking it up later in the year.

Hollowpox by Jessica Townsend

You ever anticipate a book so much that when you finally have it you just don’t read it? That’s me with Hollowpox. Again, I had this plan to reread the first two books and now I realise that plan was stupid and just an excuse. I just need to buck up and read this already.

A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown

I have so many fantasy books on my TBR to start that I just haven’t read any of them. Fantasy used to be my most-read genre within a year, but these days that goes to historical romance and my fantasy books are getting left behind.

Jade City by Fonda Lee

I’ve also talked about meaning to get to this one a few times. I know Annemieke really liked this which makes me even more interested to give this a chance.

Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett

I’m not too sad about this one, even though I did really want to get to it, and that’s because now I can count it towards the Turtle Recall Challenge! You can see my sign-up post about that here, but it’s a challenge hosted by Annemieke in which you read Discworld books.

The Betrayals by Bridget Collins

I’m giving myself another pass on this one because it wasn’t released until November and I just knew I wouldn’t have time for it in December. One of my friends is reading this right now so I’m hoping she has some good things to say about it.

The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan

As you may have guessed, I’m bad at finishing series. But I just recently reread the Percy Jackson books, so I’m definitely feeling in a Rick Riordan mood so maybe now is the time to pick this up!

Let Me Hear a Rhyme by Tiffany D. Jackson

And finally…I’ve been putting this one off for over a year now mostly because I’ve never made it out of a Tiffany D. Jackson book without tears or in need of some kind of support group. Don’t get me wrong, I love them but also oh boy, do I need a moment to prepare for them…or you know, a year.

What books did you not get to in 2020?
