My Favourite Romance Authors

Happy Valentine’s Day, my lovely friends! I thought today would be the perfect day to talk about some of my favourite romance authors. I think over the last year I’ve broadened my romance reading horizons and I’ve found some incredible authors during that time. So here I am sharing my love for them today and let’s just get into it.

Sabrina Jeffries

I always say that Sabrina Jeffries is my favourite historical romance and she absolutely is. I like the way she writes and the kinds of characters and tropes that she tends to gravitate towards. I’ve read nine of her books in total and I have quite a few waiting for me on my shelves still, making her my most read romance author as well.

Sarah MacLean

Sarah MacLean is an author I’ve had a bit of a mixed relationship with. I didn’t love her earlier books, but with each new series, I enjoy them more and more. My favourite thing about her books is the fact that they’re just fun—they’re uplifting, they’re funny and they’re sexy. Like Jeffries, I’ve read quite a few of her books—I’m currently sitting at eight.

Tessa Dare

Now we’re going into some authors that I haven’t really read that extensively, but that I’ve enjoyed so much I’d read almost anything they put out. Starting with Tessa Dare—I’ve read the first two books in her Girl Meets Duke series and I loved them. Like MacLean, they’re a lot of fun but I also think she writes some of the best smut in historical romance. There’s a reason she’s such a beloved author in the community.

Katee Robert

You may have guessed from the discussion Angel and I just did about Electric Idol that I’m absolutely loving Katee Robert’s books at the moment. We talked about this in that post, but Robert just has this way of creating worlds and characters that just completely suck you in. I’ve read four of her books so far, but I have the rest of the Wicked Villains on my shelves and I’m eagerly awaiting book three in the Dark Olympus series.

Laura Thalassa

I’ve talked about Laura Thalassa a lot as well because it was really her books that got me into fantasy romance. Angel picked out Pestilence for me to read in one of our ‘my best friend picks my romance books’ series and I instantly fell in love. It was because of her books, but particularly the Four Horseman series, that I’ve branched out and read other fantasy and paranormal romances. I really owe her a big thanks for introducing me into a whole new world of books.

Lana Pecherczyk

One of those authors I picked up following on from Thalassa is Lana Pecherczyk. I feel like her books have a very similar vibe to Thalassa’s—a human woman falls in love with a mythical being in the apocalypse. That being said, they’re both very unique stories and both of the authors bring something different to them. Pecherczyk’s Fae Guardians series is filled with incredible worldbuilding, badass women and sexy men but also a healthy dose of banter.

And there we are—those are my six favourite romance authors right now. Who are your favourites? Let me know in the comments!
