My Winter 2022 TBR | Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is Winter (or Summer) TBR. have a pretty eclectic mix of things in here from fantasy romance to middle grade to crime, so let’s get into it.

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

We’re starting off this seasonal TBR with a reread! I’ve been telling myself I’d reread the Heroes of Olympus series before moving on with the rest of Riordan’s books and I’ve still not done it. So by the end of Winter, I’m hoping to have read not only this one but the rest of the series as well.

Evil Under the Sun by Agatha Christie

I’ve been seriously slacking on reading Christie this year. In fact, I don’t think I’ve read a single one? If you’re new here, Christie is my favourite author and I’ve been working my way through the Poirot series. This is book 24 so I’ve made a sizable dent in the series, but it’s time to get back to it.

Shielded by KayLynn Flanders

I honestly had forgotten that I owned this book. I have absolutely no idea what it’s about anymore or why I wanted to read it in the first place. Maybe I’ll end up finding a book I really love, or maybe I’ll just end up getting rid of this!

Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead

On the other hand, this book has been haunting me. I bought it a few months ago on a complete whim because it looked pretty and then it got nominated for the Booker Prize a few days later. Now I can’t stop seeing it everywhere! I’m really, really intrigued by it but it’s definitely a chunky one.

Malamander by Thomas Taylor

Slipping another reread onto here. I read Malamander years ago now, maybe 2019? I can’t even remember, but I’ve got books two and three in this series as well and I need to get around to them. Naturally, I can’t remember anything about this one so rereading time it is!

The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton

It’s been a while since I read a classic—probably about a year, but I have this one sitting on my shelves and I want to give it a try. I’m not sure I’ll like it, but it’s worth a go.

Death by Laura Thalassa

I’ve been meaning to get to this one for months but I’ve been putting it off because it’s the last book in this series and I don’t know that I’m emotionally ready for it. I want to get to it in July as part of Indie Accords, so let’s hope that I do!

Savage Lands by Stacey Marie Brown

This is also one I want to read for Indie Accords and I’m super excited for it. I know this is a fae vs human sort of thing and it’s set in Budapest which sounds really cool. I’ve read a little bit of this before and really enjoyed it, so I’m hoping I end up loving the whole thing.

At the end of all my seasonal TBRs I pick out an eBook and audiobook, but I’ve honestly never finished any of the audiobooks I’ve picked so this time around I’ve decided to pick two eBooks.

Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews

This is the first one I’m going with as it’s the oldest book on my Kindle and I’m ready to read it now. I have no idea what this is really about anymore, but let’s do it!

Unnatural Death by Dorothy L. Sayers

I’m also picking this one because it’s book three in the Lord Peter Wimsey series and I really want to continue with it. I have an idea of a post I want to do with this one as well, so I really need to read it in order for that.

And that’s it for today. Are any of these on your TBR? Have you read any of them? Let me know!

  1. I read my first Ilona Andrews book earlier this year and I loved it. I have Magic Bites on my TBR too and I can’t wait to check it out. Malamander was a really fun MG read. I hope you enjoy all of these books!
