My Winter 2023 TBR | Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I’m actually doing last week’s prompt which was books on my Winter TBR because I got covid and missed out doing it then.

There’s a big focus on series in this TBR. I was meant to focus on continuing/finishing series this year but that hasn’t exactly worked out. With that, I’ve put six sequels on here plus another two rereads so I can continue on with those later. With all that said, I’m not stopping myself from starting new series either so I have two of those too. But let’s get into them.

Vintage Murder (Roderick Alleyn #5) by Ngaio Marsh

I put book four in this series on my TBR for Autumn and actually finished it yesterday. I’ve been enjoying this series so far and I’m excited to continue on with it. This is the first one in the series to be set in New Zealand, which I’m really excited for.

The Secrets in Shadow and Blood (Fae Guardians #4) by Lana Pecherczyk

I reread book two in this series for my Autumn TBR as well, but now I’m up to this one. This also starts the next ‘season’ in this larger series— this time with the vampires as the leads. I cannot even put into words how excited I am for this one.

Hell in a Handbasket (Sin Demons #2) by Mila Young and Harper A. Brooks

I read the first book of this series back in January and now that I have them all, I need to actually continue. The first one only took me a few hours to read so I’m hoping that’ll be the same with the rest of them that that I’ll be able to read them all before the end of the year.

A Kingdom of Blood and Betrayal (Stars and Shadows #2) by Holly Renee

I read book one of this series in February and I’d been holding off until I had my copies of books two and three, but now that they’re here, I definitely want to spend some time finishing the series off.

In Which Matilda Halifax Learns the Value of Restraint (Halifax Hellions #2) by Alexandra Vasti

I thought it would be a good idea to pick out this novella to break up a few of the bigger books and series I’m planning to pick up over the next few months. I’m also hoping this might be a good way to dip back into historical romance which I haven’t been reading for a while now.

Emperor (Galactic Kings #2) by Anna Hackett

Sometimes you just need some alien romance to break things up. This one is definitely more on the serious sci fi side but I really enjoyed book one and so I’m looking forward to this.

The Harp of Kings (Warrior Bards #1) by Juliet Marillier

I put this one on my Autumn TBR too but I’m determined to keep putting it on lists until eventually I actually pick it up. This first one is a reread so that I can continue with the rest of the trilogy which I’ve owned for quite a while now.

Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow (Nevermoor #1) by Jessica Townsend

This is my other reread for the season. I’ve reread this two or three times already but it’s a long-time favourite and I’m always happy to escape back into this world.

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds #1) by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison

I bought this one recently and I’ve been desperate to start it. I think this leans more towards YA fantasy which is not something I pick up a whole lot these days, but I met the authors and they were so incredibly lovely that I can’t wait to try their book.

A Soul To Keep (Duskwalker Brides #1) by Opal Reyne

I’ve already started this one and I’d read a good half or so of it. But as I said, I got hit with covid and couldn’t read so this is still sitting unfinished on my shelf. I’ll hopefully get to finish it in the next few days.

I’d love to hear what everyone put on their TBRs last week!
