My August TBR

I’m not usually a monthly TBR person. I’m absolutely 100% without a doubt a mood reader. I pretty much immediately disregard a list as soon as I put it together. I don’t know why it is that this month I just really wanted to make a TBR to talk about the books I’m excited for this month.

I will preface this by saying that there’s a chance I won’t read a single one of these books. I’m fine with that, but I wanted to put together this list anyway.

The Jasmine Throne (The Burning Kingdoms #1 by Tasha Suri)

I honestly have no idea if I’ll get this one finished this month. I’m currently reading it alongside my best friend Katey and we’re just taking it nice and slow. I’m about 200 pages in and it’s been a really interesting read so far. Hopefully, we’ll both keep enjoying it!

The Librarian of Crooked Lane (The Glass Library #1) by C.J Archer

I had a couple of my friends (including my boyfriend who specifically wanted to be mentioned in this post) pick me a book to read out of a shortlist, and all four of them ended up picking this one. I was pretty happy about that because a short read sitting at just under 300 pages, which feels like a very good idea with some of the other books on my list.

These Violent Delights (These Violent Delights #1) by Chloe Gong

I’ve been meaning to reread this for ages now so that I can continue on to book two, but I just haven’t. I absolutely loved this the first time around, so I guess maybe I’m a little nervous? I’ve decided that August is the month that I’m finally going to get to it.

Blood Bonds (The Bonds That Tie #3) by J. Bree

I’ve also been holding off on continuing this series even though I reread the first two in May. I really want to try and finish the series before the end of the year, but it’s a six-book series so I really need to get onto it. Again, I’ve decided August is the time.

Even Though I Knew the End by C.L Polk

This is one of two audiobooks I have on the go at the moment. This is a pretty short one so I’m 21% of the way through with about an hour and a half to go at my current speed. I’m someone who has to have something to do while listening to an audiobook so even this one will take me another week or two to get through.

Sticks and Stone by Grace McGinty

Finally, I couldn’t resist adding a little bit of ice hockey to the list. I bought this one in June and I’ve been waiting for a chance to pick it up. I’ve met Grace McGinty at three different events in the last year and she is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, so I’m very excited to give this a shot.

Of course, I’ve got a whole host of other things that I want to read but we’ll see what I end up getting around to!

  1. I make a TBR each month of the books I most want to read at the start of the month. Sometimes I’m really good and read them all. Other times I go rogue. But it’s fun seeing how strong the urge for those particular books last as the month progresses.
