My Spring TBR | Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is our Spring (or Autumn) TBRs.

With the end of the year not really that far off, this TBR is dedicated to making more progress on my reading goals and/or reading things for specific posts. Since I’ll be talking about my goals in a few weeks for another TTT post, I’ve skipped talking about specific goals or posts in this one.

From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata

I’ve only got two books on this list that aren’t for a goal or a post, at least at this stage. I bought this one towards the end of last year and I’ve been desperate to read it, but it keeps getting pushed back for other things. I think future me will really appreciate putting something on this list that doesn’t make more work for myself.

Luxuria (Shades of Sin #1) by Colette Rhodes

The good thing about my goals and posts is that quite a few of them overlap, like this one. Ideally I need to have this done before the end of October for the post, but I’ve been really looking forward to it. This is a monster romance and I haven’t read one in ages so it should be fun.

The Broken Raven (Shadow Skye #2) by Joseph Elliott

I’ve talked in the past about being horrifically bad at continuing series, so obviously I’ve tried making goals and posts that’ll help with that. I’ve had this series waiting for me since 2021. I even reread the first book last year so it’s time to continue it or decide to move it along.

Dual Nature (Omega Assassin #1) by Elizabeth Knight

I honestly decided to slip this one in because it’s on the shorter side and again, I think future me will appreciate that. It’ll help me mark another thing off in my goals and I get to read about assassins while doing it.

Games with the Orc (Monster Smash Agency #1) by Kathryn Moon

Back to the monster romance (of course). This’ll mark of another goal and post. But I’m also excited to read more Kathryn Moon, she’s definitely become one of my favourite discoveries this year.

Winter Sun (Warriors of the Five Realms #2) by Hollee Mands

If all has gone to plan, I’ve either already finished or have almost finished Little Fire (book one in this series) by the time you’re seeing this. Hopefully I’ve enjoyed it enough to jump into this one soon.

Just Kids by Patti Smith

Okay, these next two aren’t technically part of a reading goal but they also kind of are? I have a list of books I either want to finish or try before moving in a few months because I’m not sure whether I’ll want to take them. I have the super heavy (but beautiful) illustrated edition of this and moving with it would be a commitment. I’ve started this before and I love Patti Smith so I’m pretty sure this’ll be one I leave in storage, but I want to read it first.

Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer #1) by Laini Taylor

This one is kind of the opposite. I got this secondhand and thought I’d try it because it’s a friends favourite book. I’ve heard kind of mixed things about it from other friends since, but I want to try it. Unless it’s one that I end up loving, I think it’ll probably end up redonating but you never know.

The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom #1) by Danielle L. Jensen

This is the other non-goal/non-post book on the list. This one has been sitting on my shelf since 2021 and I keep forgetting about it. Whenever I remember I always want to bump it to the top of my TBR but then I just forget again. Hopefully putting it on this list will give me the push I need.

Malamander (The Legends of Eerie-on-Sea #1) by Thomas Taylor

I’ve put this one on many, many TBRs. I’ve been saying I’d reread it since 2020 and I still haven’t. The final book in the series was released a week and a bit ago so there’s really no excuse for me not to pick this up, especially since I own the next two. I think I’ve decided that if I don’t pick it up before my Summer TBR comes around, I’ll unhaul them.

Have you read any of these? What’s on your TBR for this season?

  1. I’ve read From Lukov With love and was so, so surprised by it! I had a great time reading, I hope you’ll have it too.

Strange the Dreamer is a book that took me a while to get into, but I ended up rating it 5 stars in the end. The Bridge Kingdom was an interesting read for me, but not one of my favorites. I hope you are able to pick these books up and will enjoy them!
