Last week I talked very briefly about the fact I was super busy and was trying to juggle a lot of things (as always), and I thought today I could actually talk about some of the exciting things I’m trying to do. Let’s just get into it all.
Ko-fi
I’ve just opened up memberships over on Ko-fi here! Right now there’s one tier—Arthie’s Accomplices—for just $1/month, with more levels (and more perks) coming soon.
This gives me a space to share some behind-the-scenes stuff that doesn’t quite fit on the blog or my channels. If you feel like supporting me in that way, I appreciate it more than I can say. And if not, just being here, reading and watching and cheering me on, means the world too.
Blog
This blog has kind of been a catch-all for everything in the last two years and I haven’t been dedicating the time to it that I want to. With everything I have planned, this is still going to be a mix of sharing my videos, writing stuff etc but I also want to get back into actually sharing the reviews I’ve been writing. I have so many half-finished reviews in my drafts and over the next few weeks I’m hoping to catch up on all of them.
Booktube
I have so many huge booktube projects on the go that it’s a little crazy. Almost all of them are vlogs which I’m just slowly chipping away at every week and at some point, they’ll be done. Others are kind of intensive research projects almost—I’ve been working on this particular one about Agatha Christie for months now and I’m not that much closer to being done. I’ll be sharing some behind-the-scenes content about that video on my Ko-fi within the next six weeks or so once I open up the other tiers.
Writing
I think it’s been a while since I really talked about my writing. I used to be a write-every-day kind of person but then I became an actual adult with responsibilities and I didn’t write anything consistently for years. I’ve really been trying to get back to it in 2025 and with that, I’ve been hit by two new ideas. I’ll talk about the other WIPs I have one day soon but the two new ideas are what I’ve been focusing on.
The first is nonfiction which is something I’ve never really tried to write before beyond the occasional short article or essay. It’s about women in art, which is something really, really important and interesting to me. I’m still very much in the early research stage of this, but again I plan on talking about it more both here and on Ko-fi when things come together more.
The second is a romance series. Funnily enough, I’ve also never tried to write anything romance even though it’s my favourite genre. All of my WIPs have romances, but that’s not the focus of any of them so this has been interesting to test out my writing skills.
Knitting
Ahh, knitting—the way I procrastinate doing all of these other things.
I’ve been pretty consistent with my knitting this year, I think I’ve finished four projects so far, including my first-ever sweater. I had a bit of a roadblock at the end of May when I had a pair of needles break on me when I was so close to finishing a long-term project, but I’m back to working on things now and I’m hoping to finish some things in July. Right now, my main focus is a big blanket to try and warm up our house a little in the absolutely freezing Winter temperatures we’re experiencing right now.
And that’s most of it right now. Of course, this all comes with balancing personal, work and health-related things but those things are boring and don’t bring me the same joy that procrastinating all these things do!
What are you up to lately?
