1. Do you keep a list of the books you have read?
I track my reading each year through a spreadsheet. I use one that a blogger created back in 2016, I think, and just make a copy of it every year.
2. If you record stats, what stats do you record?
I track quite a few stats. I record the target audience and author’s gender. I also things like new release vs backlist, diversity and so forth. I keep all of these so I can track what I need to work on month by month.
3. Do you give star ratings for books and if so, what do you rate books out of and how do you come about this score?
Honestly good on those bloggers who actually know what they’re star ratings mean. I use 1 – 5 stars, but I could not explain to you why. My star ratings make sense to me at the time.
4. Do you review books?
Yes—I write something for every single book I read on Goodreads, even if it’s only a sentence or two. This is mostly for me because I have a terrible memory.
5. Where do you put your finished books?
My bookshelf is split into read vs TBR, so they just go on there, ready to be put away. I rearrange my shelves at the end of every month, by which I mean I just put away those books into the right spot rather than having to move everything every single time.
6. How do you pick your next book?
Well first, Angel and I complain to each other that we don’t know what to read for like an hour or two. I’ll usually stare at my shelves for a really long time and try to work out what I need to read to fill whatever reading challenge I’ve set myself. Then I’ll probably end up starting two or three different books before I actually get into one enough to finish it.
7. Do you have any other rituals for when you have finished a book?
I post wrap-up videos on my Booktube channel mid-way through and at the end of every month, so sometime after finishing the book I’ll film my little clip for each book but that’s about it.
8. Who do you tag?
I’m not tagging anyone today, but feel free to join in if you’d like!
