Watching and Listening | January 2021

I honestly couldn’t tell you what I spent January doing. I didn’t really read a lot (at least for me), and I didn’t really watch that much either. I had meant to get to a few more things but I just didn’t, but nonetheless, I do have a couple of things to share with you all today anyway. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Playing Catch Up

One of my big goals for this month was to try and catch up on the different shows I started and never continued, so let’s see how I did with that.

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist: Episodes 8 to 12 of season one, which means the first season is done. This show makes me cry every single episode, so I’m giving it a few weeks before I started season 2.

Elementary: Episodes 6 to 10 of season three. I’ve very much struggled with this season so far—I sped through seasons 1 and 2 but this one is just boring me. I love the character of Kitty, but both Sherlock and Joan are annoying me at the moment. I’ll just keep working slowly on this.

Charmed: Episodes 1 to 14 of season one. I decided early in the month to rewatch Charmed, rather than you know, finishing one of the shows I’d already started or something that’s been on my list for a while. Turns out I remembered literally nothing that happened in season 1 so this has kind of been like watching something new anyway.

Pride and Prejudice: This one isn’t a catch up, but I didn’t want to make a separate section for it. I watched the BBC miniseries for the first time. Look, I know this is a hot take but I prefer the 2005 movie. I’m very much a fan of aesthetically pleasing films and a big fan of the director, Joe Wright but I did enjoy this nonetheless.

Marvel

Angel and I got to hang out for a few days and we basically went on a Marvel marathon. We watched The Avengers, Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron, Civil War and Thor Ragnarok. Winter Soldier and Thor Ragnarok are two of my absolute favourites from Marvel so I’m always happy to rewatch them.

I’ve watched the first four episodes of WandaVision that are out so far. I’m absolutely adoring this show. I loved the cutesy, Bewitched style of the first few episodes and I’m very interested to see where this is going to go next.

What did you watch in January? Are any of you watching (and hopefully loving!) WandaVision as well? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’ve started season 2 of Zoey’s Playlist and it’s just as good as the first season I’m happy to report! I plan to start Wandavision but I really want to catch up on the Marvel movies.
