Today we’re doing a little bit of a different post than usual, and I’ll be talking about some TV shows.
I’m extremely picky when it comes to watching things—I never enjoyed Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad or anything like that, so there are a lot of popular shows that I just don’t ever intend to watch. So I thought I’d take a bit of a journey down memory lane and watch some cult classic shows for teens that I’d never seen. And here’s how it went…
Saved By The Bell
This was the show that inspired this whole post for me. I don’t really know why I decide to start watching this one night, but I did. I remember this one vaguely from my childhood—I think it used to be on Nickelodeon either before or after something my brother and I used to watch. I wasn’t even born while the series was still airing so it’s not something I ever watched. Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy it. Honestly, I kind of hate Zack Morris and I think I probably would’ve enjoyed it more if it followed someone else. I made it six episodes into the first season and decided that was enough for me. I am still a little interested in seeing the reboot of it, but I’m not sure.
Boy Meets World
I picked out this one because I was interested in seeing the reboot for it as well. This was alright honestly, but I was mostly just bored by it. I watched the first three episodes but couldn’t really be bothered to keep going. I just didn’t really find the characters interesting enough to want to keep going. So I think these two are both done for me—it was worth the try, though right?
Beverly Hills, 90210
And now we get into the biggest surprise for me. This was kind of the reverse of the previous too—I used to watch the 2008 version of 90210 a couple years ago but I’d never seen the original. I’m actually halfway through the first season of this now because I ended up really enjoying it. I think it’s much better than the newer version, to be honest—the characters are much more interesting so far. I can see why this was so popular and I’m excited to continue on with it.
Sabrina The Teenage Witch
And my favourite from this list was, of course, Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I watched the entire first season of this and loved every moment. I’ll be starting the next season in a few days time. I just think this is such a fun and light show, and it’s very much my kind of thing—witches are my favourite supernatural/paranormal being to read and watch things about so that definitely helped. My plan is to move onto the animated and new version once I’ve finished with this one and I’m just extremely excited about that.
