April was kind of a blur for a couple of reasons, and so I don’t really have a lot to talk about in this month’s wrap up. We’re going to jump right in and I’ll tell you everything…
Reading
Yep, that’s right—four whole books this month! I’m feeling really good about having finished all of these considering how little I’ve been reading this year. My least favourite by far was Venus and Aphrodite—I have another book by Bettany Hughes to read and then I think I might do a post talking about why this didn’t work for me. I don’t know if I could pick a favourite between the other three—I’ve been loving Elle Kennedy this year and the Ngaio Marsh was a reread for me, They were all fantastic honestly.
TV, Movies and Music
I didn’t actually watch a whole lot this month. Being sick for most of it meant that I slept most of the time and then towards the end of the month when I started feeling better I just watched the one show. That show was Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D which I’d watch quite a bit of when it was airing and then lost interest, but I just randomly decided I would rewatch it this month. I watched the first two seasons—I remembered a lot of season 1 but season 2 was a complete blur to me so I’m excited to see how much of season 3 I remember.
Life Stuff
The best news out of this month is that I finally quit my job. It’d become a really unsafe place for me to be and my mental health is already doing so much better, even though I only finished a few days ago. It’s onwards and upwards to better things!
I unfortunately started the month off really, really sick and I ended up spending a few hours in hospital again. I’m doing much better now, but I’m still not quite there.
I’m doing a bit of a reset as we go into May—getting back to my writing and reading and other things that bring me joy. It’s been a rough year but I think it’s looking up now.
Plans for May
Here’s hoping for a really good May! A couple of the things I want to do this month are:
- Finish the two books I’m currently reading (Fourth Wing as a reread, and I Who Have Never Known Men)
- Finish the chapter I’m currently writing
- Watch Off Campus when it’s finally aired May 13th!!!
