Did I Read These 2021 Purchases?

As we draw closer to the end of the year, it’s all about looking back at those goals and posts that I did last year and seeing how I did with them. Today we’re looking back at this post from a Top Ten Tuesday where we looked at 2021 purchases I still needed to read. So, did I read them? Let’s find out!

Happily Ever Afters by Elise Bryant

I haven’t read this one yet, but it is on my list for October. I’d kind of forgotten about this one a little until it came to making this post, but I slipped it onto my list for the month and it’ll hopefully be part of a post I’m doing next week.

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

I ended up getting to this one in January, well kind of, I ended up DNFing it. I gave this a solid go, but it just didn’t work for me. It’s so long ago that I don’t really remember why now.

The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper

I was hoping to get to this one at the end of September, but I was just in such a huge slump that I didn’t. It’s part of a Book Snooker: Halloween Edition TBR, which is a readathon that starts tomorrow so hopefully by the end of the month I’ve picked this one up too.

Ariadne by Jennifer Saint

I’ve added this one to so many TBRs and lists and I still haven’t gotten around to it. I’m still incredibly interested in this one so I won’t be unhauling it, but I do really want to try and priortise it before the end of the year.

Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

I got to this one in May and I loved it. I’ve since finished book three as well and this series is definitely one o f my favourite contemporary romances. I love Talia Hibbert’s way of writing disability and chronic illness, and her smutty scenes are also fantastic.

Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer

I started this one at the end of September but I haven’t finished it. I was in that huge slump I talked about and I just didn’t sleep like picking it up. I’m hoping I’ll still be able to finish it off this month.

Gunk Baby by Jamie Marina Lau

I was originally very excited for this one but I ended up unhauling it a few weeks ago. Once upon a time, I didn’t mind reading a few literary fiction titles but now they just don’t really interest me that much and I didn’t see myself making time to read this one.

Frostheart by Jamie Littler

I picked this one up at the end of September as well, just before that huge slump hit, and I absolutely loved it. It was such a fantastic book and exactly what I needed at the time—I thought it was going to stop me from going into that slump but sadly the book I picked up next didn’t go so well.

The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni

This was another I ended up DNFing back in March. I was just bored by this for the most part and I just think that I’m over fantasies than take place in some kind of prison setting—I’ve read it before and now it just feels cliche.

These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan

I haven’t gotten to this one yet, but I’ve been considering maybe just unhauling it. I’d originally bought it so I could read it for post idea I had, but it’s been over a year and I’ve only read one of the books I had in mind. I’ll give this a go but I’m not going to keep hold of it for another year.

That’s it for today. Have you read any of these? What 2021 purchases do you still need to get to?
